My Diet
- Confused by the massive
number of diets out there - I have come up with my own
simple and effective eating plan. And it's only 10 words
long! They are: No Wheat, No Fat, No Salt, No Sugar,
Exercise Today. That's all there is to it! If you find
it too 'extreme' - substitute "No" for "Less". Less
Wheat, Less Fat, Less Salt, Less Sugar, Exercise Today.
Weight-Loss Tips/Lessons learnt
- Regardless of how much you
weigh NOW. Start to imagine you are already your goal
weight. Think of yourself as slim and trim NOW. Your brain
will then start to move your thinking towards becoming what
you want rather than keeping you the way you are! Learn to
think of yourself as slim inside a larger temporary
structure!
- Human beings are designed
for one thing - moving. If you make a decision to be more
active, not only do you burn more calories, you feel better
about yourself - and are therefore more likely to want to be
more active in the future.
- If you don't put it into
your shopping trolley - you can't eat it!
- Decide what you want to
eat before you open the refrigerator door!
- Staying up late watching
TV makes you fat. Let me explain; in the morning you are
tired. Your body thinks you need energy, therefore you are
more likely to crave food - especially sweet or sugary ones.
- If I have a couple of
glasses of wine with a meal - my sweet tooth is triggered. I
am therefore FAR more likely to have a 'small' dessert!
- Eat from smaller plates.
- All too often we confuse
being hungry with thirst. Before you eat anything - ask
yourself - is this actually thirst?
- Drink at least a pint of water
before each meal. Make water your drink of choice. Replace
your usual drinks with water.
- Eat more slowly. Your
brain takes about 20 minutes to let you know when you're
full. Therefore when you eat quickly, your brain doesn't
tell you to stop eating until AFTER you've eaten too much.
- When I'm bored, I go to
the fridge. One of the unfortunate disadvantages of working
from home.
